What is type 2 diabetes2?

Type 2 diabetes is a condition where you have too much sugar circulating in your bloodstream. Another name for diabetes is “sugar disease”. This is where you have too much sugar in your blood because your body is less sensitive to insulin. Insulin is a hormone that helps move sugar from your blood into your cells. Your cells use this sugar as fuel for energy.
